i am going to throw down the gaunlet.
those who know the truth but stay in anyways are complicit in actions of the jehovah witness organization.
while i am sympathetic to the very difficult choices that they have to make, their unwillingness to confront the jw enables the organization.. some of you may remember my story.
One size does NOT fit all.
Have fun with your black and white worldview.
Glad this isn't 7-8 years ago when I awakened to TTATT as a 3rd gen elder married to a true-believing 3rd gen JW wife contemplating what to do.
If I'd taken your advice I'd have lost my wife and kids for sure.
Instead I took the advice of "Amazing" (Jay Walters a former poster on here and on Freeminds) and fought from the inside playing the double agent for about 3 years until enough of my "seeds" finally took root in my wife's psyche.
Now we're all out.
Is that the ONLY RIGHT WAY TO DO IT? Hell no.
But it worked for our situation. C'est la vie.

i occasionally pop through here to catch up on the latest, but this time i'm going to pop my own post on here.. some of you internet oldsters may even remember this.
my first experience on the internet regarding discussions about jehovah's witnesses and the watchtower took place on a now-obscure usenet group, before i eventually stumbled across hourglass2.. during those days, there was a poster who went by the name "prominent bethelite," an otherwise anonymous individual whom i remember most for an extensive, exhaustive compilation of date-oriented remarks, predictions, and expectations by the watchtower organization down through the decades of its history.. it became known as "the list" and it's definitely lengthy... but a fascination look at the abundance of errant statements made through the watchtower's history.. if you're curious, it's been available for a long time on hourglass2's site, and can be seen using the link provided below.. the list, compiled by prominent bethelite (1999).
that's about it for this stop through here.
marked with great appreciation
the article addressed luke 20:34-36 and now they finally admit jesus could have been referring to the heavenly resurrection.
they said "put simply, the answer is that we cannot say" which is surprising because they have something to say about everything.
perhaps all the old people who are waiting the new world as widow and widowers want to know if they have a chance to be reunited with their dead loved one.
And perhaps the WT's greatest Vizzini imitation was with regard to the resurrection of the residents of Sodom.
If memory serves, they have taken TEN different arbitrary stances on this earth-shattering topic.

Thanks for the info.
1914 did not bring the end they were hoping for so new light shone down from above and corrected their understanding.. 1925 also led to unfulfilled expectations and so new light was bestowed.. .
(i could go through all the dates and expectations... but i won't.).
what if the new light about 1914 being the year that christ returned was provided before 1914?
For me, one of the strongest bits of evidence that the whole "new light" concept was fatally flawed was in regard to whether or not the residents of Sodom would receive a resurrection.
Last time I checked there's not a huge contingency of long lost relatives of those who were destroyed in Sodom who are banging on the Governing Body's doors begging that they get a resurrection. It's one of those theological questions that's fairly academic and most people probably won't get too worked up about it either way.
But the Watchtower has flip-flopped on this question TEN(count 'em) TEN times. There was no time pressure on the WT to make these flip-flops. It was just stupid.

greetings to all who surf shark-infested internet waters.. after i was hit by ransomware the other day, i did research on so-called safe sites.
it seems more and more sites are being infected deliberately by hackers.
i went to a legit-looking site on a famous artist and -- wham!
my daughter will be getting married this coming august.
she and her future husband are not jehovah's witnesses.
they will have a non-religious wedding ceremony.
A JW relative of mine attended the funeral of his mother at the K Hall. There was a meal that followed at her house. It was a cold, damp, drizzly day. He sat with his plate outside at a picnic table so the religious fanatics inside wouldn't "even eat a meal" with such a man.
I was a young boy at the time and had to have it recounted to me by my DFed, gay, older brother.
Chris Hitchens said something to the effect that if you want people to commit GREAT evil, you need to include religion.

recently had a discussion with a surgeon who said jw parents "usually" (her word, not mine) privately say they will take blood if the provider gets a court order.. yet another person, with no connection to dubs and no motive to make this up, saying this same thing.
interesting.. i'm surprised the thought police have not come out with an article saying jehoopla reads the hearts and judges as bloodguilty those who are relieved when forced to take blood..
Uh, rebel8, I think we're probably talking right past each other here.
This quote from the link you posted confirms my earlier assertion:
"Generally, it is only when the child’s life is at risk that the weighing of interests favors the child and the government authority that is asserting the child’s rights."
Bottom line, if to a "reasonable degree of medical certainty" the kid's going to die without a blood transfusion, the whining JW parents can go pound sand while the ER docs give them blood to save their life. That's the reality in urban, Western, ERs that have access to judges willing to sign off 24/7 to save a kid's life.
If the kid's gonna die, the cult can suck it and the kid's gonna live.
Am I missing something here?

watchtower minions have pulled down jwsurveys links .
